Lots of catching up!

Well, as I told you last week, I had a busy weekend! Friday night, we all went to Whistlestop and heard my brother and his band play. It was a good time! Saturday, we had some crazy weather with threats of tornados and floods (which have now affected Nashville and parts of Florence just west of here). So, it was a lazy day that I spent napping and E spent in the garage working on our swing. It is finished now, except the clear coat and hanging it! He did such a great job! It is going to be a great addition to our backyard and a great way to spend time together outside. Here is a picture of it before the clear coat:

Sunday, even though it was raining horribly, I had a bridal shower at my church. It was such a nice shower and we got so many great things. I feel very lucky that I have so many people that care and want E and I to have such a successful marriage. We were like kids in a candy store when we were looking at everything that we had gotten. Here are some pictures:

Now for today, I am hoping to finish Angie Smith's book, I Will Carry You. I got it yesterday and am halfway finished. I know I will finish it today because it is SO good! Hopefully I can celebrate my one year blogiversary soon! Have a happy Tuesday!

Accomplished

It is before 9 here in beautiful Alabama and I have already accomplished SO much! E and I got up this morning and ran again, so that means I was up. I decided to go ahead and start my day. So far this morning, I have showered, separated and started laundry, cooked breakfast, done dishes, cleaned the kitchen, and swept the floor. That is CRAZY! It isn't even 9!! Now, I am itching to get ready and go run the errands I need to run so I can get home and have the afternoon to myself.

Ok, enough about the present....on to the past (yesterday) and the future (the weekend). I have completely forgotten to blog about my 1 year blogiversary. Yep, April 22 marked the one year mark of having my blog. I guess I will save that post for next week so I can make it something special. Yesterday, I had to go to Montgomery. I got to spend a lot of time with C and catch up and visit like old times. It was GREAT to see her and I came home happy and refreshed.

This weekend is going to be BUSY! My brother is coming in town to play is annual show at the Whistlestop Festival. That should be fun. Then, it is supposed to rain the rest of the weekend, so we are going to finish the swing probably and then work around the house since there will be no fence building in the rain. Then on Sunday, I have my first shower at the church. I am excited!!

Well, I am off to attempt to accomplish more things! Hope you all have a WONDERFUL Friday and a LOVELY weekend!!

Romans, Countrymen, lend me your ears...(or at least your armor)

Well, this weekend, I went to Huntsville for Whistlestop to see my brother and his band play. Well, little did I know that it would rain the minute I got there until the minute I left there! Whew, it was a wet weekend! The concert got rained out and the Whistlestop BBQ Festival was canceled on Friday night. Well, my brother decided that he wasn't going to let it get him down because there were lots of people who had come from out of town to see him besides me....

So, Chris and Andrew decided to move their concert to Andrew's loft, which is right downtown a couple of blocks from the original spot. They had to modify their show a bit to be an acoustic set, but it still turned out to be a lot if fun. We ended up having fun there and around the corner at Mason's then back to Andrew's and the roof. We even ended up dragging out Andrew's Roman soldier garb and everyone was taking pictures with it...it ended up being a good time despite the rain and missed concert.

Anyway, I am bummed that it was cold and rainy. I am thankful for my Lucky jeans that I wore (you can read about them in the last post). They came in very, very handy! :)But, other than that, it was a great weekend and a great time spent with family and friends.
