Looking back and fall and football and a funny

So, I had no clever post for today, hence the absolutely random title. Maybe it will grab someone's attention, probably not, but oh well. At least YOU are here!! So, I was reading on someone's blog about the new "stats" button that is at the top of the blogger dashboard page and I clicked on it. It was all very interesting. But, the most interesting part is the number one google search that brings people to my page is "Toomer's Corner". WTH?? I mean, this girl is a BAMA GIRL all the way. Orange and Blue, Auburn and anything that has to do with it are just awful to me! I mean, I won't even eat an orange and blue m&m at the same time! Because I HATE AUBURN. I graduated from The University of Alabama and it is burned into my brain! That is just how it is! Well, that is SO funny that is what brings people here and it is all because of THIS POST that I wrote in August of last year. Ya'll it is FUNNY!! You have GOT to go read it. You will laugh and laugh and laugh, and if you are having a week like me, a little laugh will go a LONG way. It honestly has just a little to do about Auburn and Toomer's corner but more about poop and toilet paper. GO READ IT!!!

On another note, I am SO glad that fall is here! That means the weather is changing, the time is changing and I am ecstatic! Also, with fall comes FOOTBALL!! I can't get enough of football when the season is here. It helps to root for the reigning NATIONAL CHAMPIONS! I am really looking forward to this season! Roll Tide!

Well, since this post is random and now over, you need to go make yourself laugh! You won't be disappointed I promise!

The signs are all there...

Pointing toward FALL!!! Yep, that is right! Just this week we started waking up and it was darker outside, it is getting darker earlier in the evenings. It is actually pleasant in the mornings and evenings, and you can just feel the changes in the air! I cannot tell you how excited I am!! This summer has been brutal! In facet, it has been one of the hottest on record here in Alabama. But, fall is just around the corner! That brings great weather, holidays, pretty leaves, my favorite clothes, and most importantly, ALABAMA FOOTBALL!!! That is the most exciting part! It starts in little over a week and I couldn't be more excited! What are your favorite things about fall?

Weekend wrap-up

So...I haven't been on in a while! Almost a week! Yikes! I guess I have been pretty darn busy! The last you heard from me, it was Wednesday and my bro turned 30. Well, Thursday, I only worked a half day and then headed to Huntsville, and was off on Friday! The half day that I did work wasn't totally uneventful, I was kinda busy before I became totally useless and left! I headed to the ville for 2 specific reasons: One was to ship E off half way across the world for a MONTH! Boooo! The second was to go to my high school and accept my "Alumni of the Year" award and "get inducted" into the "Alumni Hall of Fame." Another thing that happened while I was there was I froze my butt off. Seriously, that was not an intended purpose for the trip, but it happened, and I definitely left it somewhere in the bleachers at Sparkman High School. It. Was. So. Cold. But, I do love this time of year (when I don't have to be outside dressed up in it) because it is a reason to wear sweatshirts, sweaters, hats, gloves, scarves, boots, build fires, drink cider and hot chocolate, snuggle, watch the leaves change and decorate for the seasons. Oh, and if I hadn't frozen my butt off in Huntsville, I would totally be enjoying those heated seats in my car (ok, I am still enjoying them, I was just going with the theme). Anyway, my mom and I did what we do best and went shopping a little and we all went to church and ate a totally unhealthy meal after with my grandmother. Oh, Saturday night, I made homemade chicken pot pies for my family and my grandparents, that was good. I also watched the Crimson Tide beat South Carolina. It wasn't a pretty win, but a win is a win no matter how you get there! So, now, I am back at work, enjoying the still fall-like, but slightly warmer weather a little further south. Here's to a great week! Hope you all make the best of it!

Tuesday Update

Wow, I have been so busy I haven't blogged in so long. I guess you all thought I was around Thursday and Friday, but in fact, those were scheduled posts, so I haven't been around in a WHILE! Lots to catch up on....
Thursday: Pat Green! Can I just say, this was so much fun!! I was afraid that the concert was going to be a little stuffy because of the older than usual crowd and the "seating". Pat took matters in his own hands though and invited the crowd down to the stage, like it is supposed to be, and we had lots of fun. It is nice when you can use the stage as your bar, its a great place to set your drink when you wanna take a picture! Although it is not such a great spot when he shotguns a beer and the remnants spill on you. Oh well, small price to pay for a WONDERFUL night! Emory and I met the sweetest couple ever! They were so fun! We then went to the Alley Bar and had fun there.
Friday: I worked and had a LONG day! Then did nothing!!
Saturday: The Tide rolled over the hogs. Sushi was eaten, an the rain came down!!
Sunday: Relaxing, pretty day in Montgomery, a trip to Bass Pro Shop, and a great dinner.
Monday/Tuesday: I watched my boss on CNN last night on "Face Off" on Lou Dobbs. Pretty cool. And I got excited when it was cool outside and I actually needed a jacket last night and this morning. I thought I may actually open a window or the porch door and enjoy the beginning of fall weather. Then, reality hit me that my city stinks and I couldn't do that. Seriously, it stinks so bad that I can't have fresh air in my house to enjoy (at least not most of the time). So, I have to settle for enjoying man-made fall smells from my Pumpkin Spice wallflower in my living room. I'm just glad it is finally cooling off!

**Update on Scout as the office dog: He has become a morning person like his Mommy! We have gotten into a routine now, when we come into the building and start to take the stairs (because someone won't take the elevator)I let him off his leash and he races to the 4th floor while I lag behind. Then we meet at the top and he runs into the office so excited and goes to see who is there. If no one is there yet, he will lay in the floor where he can see the door and wait for people to come in and greet them. He likes to play ball.run.play.bark all first thing when he gets there. I think he loves it! His favorite thing is to show out during staff meetings when everyone is together. He gets his toy (what used to be a sock monkey that is now just shreds of fabric, and gets in the middle of everyone and shakes the toy in his mouth for a minute and then goes around to everyone sniffing and seeing if anyone will put a cup of coffee on the ground so he can steal a drink really fast!

Feels Like Fall

Who didn't love the weather this weekend?? It was absolutely WONDERFUL! I actually got to sit on my screened porch and drink coffee and eat my breakfast without dying from heat and humidity! I actually needed a cardigan! Then again, this morning, when I went for my run, I needed a jacket because it was cool!Fall is in the air and I am SO excited! Football season is almost here! That is the BEST time of year! I had a pretty relaxing weekend, but Sunday, I spent it at the park reading and playing with my favorite little man:

Enjoy your week! It is going to be a GREAT one!! :)
